For 15 years JohnColins has been a staple in this crazy city, providing a place for all to come together, regardless of race, sex, politics, sexual preference or financial status. We love what we do, and we love all of you who support us!
I'll admit has been quite the roller coaster ride...
We have survived a city and state mandated eminent domain (that literally took our original location from us and pretty much handed it to someone else). We survived the real estate and financial crash of 2008, the 3 year shutdown of the Moscone center, a building makeover that covered our business in scaffolding and raggedy cloth for 6 months (that lasted through a new years eve). BUT, through all of that I must say there has not been a lot of money to be made, so this COVID-19 situation has been quite devastating to our business so far. That said, we have always stayed persistent and creative to keep the business running - not only for John and I but also for our employees. We accepted a big responsibility once we went into business. We are responsible for maintaining the livelihood of our staff as which affects the greater community. We have been lucky enough to have the best bar staff in SF throughout the years, and some of your favorite JC faces have been with us since day one. Imagine that - it's truly incredible!
Well here we are up against it, yet again. I don't feel comfortable reaching out to you (our faithful patrons), but I feel that we are in a place where outside assistance will be needed to reopen JohnColins.
Again not for John and I solely, but to provide jobs for our faithful and amazing staff... oh, and don't forget about Takoba. Can you imagine a downtown SF with out your favorite sushi? Bottom line is that we are a family, through and through. That is what JohnColins has always striven to be; a home away from home where all are welcome.
So, with that in mind, please do what you can and not a penny more. I know everybody is going through it right now, and we are too.

The funds we raise on this page will be used to pay back rent and vendor bills.
We will use some of the funds purchasing back stock, and they will provide much needed cash flow for labor until things pick up.
Any funds not used to cover operating expenses will be given directly to the staff.
