Joey's Gym: Where the Fun and Laughter Comes From

We're as Mom & Pop as you get.

Never in 32 years starting back in late 1987 would we have dreamed of Joey's Gym for Children being closed.
When I bought Joey and his family out in 1992 after working for them for the first five years of the business, I knew we had started something special. With over 4,300 children's birthdays celebrated and tens of thousands of "Parent and Me" classes taught, this is the only job we've had, and I must say we wouldn't want it any other way.
I met my wife Dana at Joey's in 1996 and were married in 1997. In 2000 we started our family with the birth of our son Zander and in 2002 we welcomed our daughter Zane, (class of 2020) into the world. They both have grown up celebrating their birthdays at Joey's as well as many others.

Through out the years we watched many kiddos grow,  and have also had many second generation families come back as well.
However in early February,  the sizes of our classes got smaller due to pregnant moms being advised by their doctors to stay home because of the early warning of the Coronavirus in Europe.
Next thing you know, we had to close our doors during our busiest month of the year which has been financially devastating.

In the last few months while we've been closed by the City of Beverly Hills  we have launched our new website: www.joeysgymforchildren.com, . With this platform you can see what we do, how our classes and play area are set up, and how we have been donating and contributing to our community for over the past 32 years.
We were able to convert our classes virtually via zoom as"Ronster in the House". However, because lots of our little ones are younger than those in elementary school we have only been receiving  5-10% of our daily income and that has not been nearly enough.  Even though we are following the protocol and guidelines on how to reopen, our gym remains closed.

Which brings us to this campaign.

Going forward our classes and birthday parties will have a different structure. These will be offered as followed:
Family Care Private Classes
Family and Close Friends Classes
Micro Birthday Parties

We have been passed over by SBA for the EIDL loan and are still waiting to hear back from two banks regarding our PPP loan applications.
We think it seems they feel we're too small to save.

For the first time ever, we are reaching out to our community as we need your help to save Joey's Gym For Children. The money raised from this campaign would help us cover the loses from the last few months, operating costs, including rent, health care and it would also give us time to adapt to the new social distancing guide lines in order to have smaller classes.

We believe that Joey's' Gym is essential to our neighborhoods physical, social and mental health. To help families laugh, smile and get silly. It's what we do.

We are grateful for our community and we look forward to serving you for years to come.

Be well, and stay safe.
