Hykoosh, the wife of Jim and Vergine’s Best Man (Gagik), has been diagnosed with malignant liver cancer. Time is of the essence and surgery is needed immediately in Moscow, Russia. Please read below for more details.
Many of you have heard the miracle story of the marriage of Jim and Vergine many years ago, but you have not heard the story of their Best Man, Gagik. When the miracle marriage was in its early stages of relationship-building through letters, Jim didn’t speak Armenian and Vergine didn’t speak English. Thus, the letters needed to be translated. God brought Gagik into their lives. Upon Jim’s arrival in Armenia to marry Vergine, Gagik also helped translate some of the vital and important conversations that were needed to help the communication and marriage legal process. An instant friendship developed between Jim and Gagik and the end result was Gagik translated the wedding ceremony for Jim as his Best Man. At that time, Gagik worked as a translator in his job, and was warned by the communist authorities (communism was alive and well in the Soviet Union in 1980) not to associate with Jim, a Christian and an American. He denied their request, and proceeded to discover a wonderful relationship with Jesus Christ and a great friendship followed with Jim, Vergine, Gagik, and Hykoosh.
A few days ago, while Jim and Gagik talked on Skype to wish Happy Easter to each other, their wives, and their children, Gagik revealed to Jim that his wife, Hykoosh, has been diagnosed with malignant liver cancer. His family is very emotional and time is of the essence. Hykoosh needs immediate surgery in Moscow, where the malignant portion of her liver must be removed in order for it to regenerate and give her a new opportunity to live. The financial cost of the surgery is estimated to be from $15,000 to $20,000 dollars. This is extremely expensive for someone earning an Armenian wage, where universal health care is nonexistent for these emergencies.
WHAT IS NEEDED NOW:
Will you help my close friend and his wife, by donating funds for the surgical and recovery costs? The goal is $15,000 to $20,000 dollars. Some funds have been sent already prior to this fundraising effort, but they fall short of the additional 15 to 20 thousand dollars needed. I will be sending him the funds as quickly as possible as this fundraiser reaches various milestones.
Please click the “Donate Now” button and follow the directions. Since Gagik lives in Armenia, this “Go Fund Me” account has to be in my name, as they have no affiliated offices in Armenia. I will wire him the funds via Money Gram as I collect them, which works well in both America and Armenia.
Please keep Gagik, Hykoosh, and their daughter in your prayers.
Thank you and God bless you all!
