Save Historical Ohio Barn
Donation protected
Hi my name is Joyce Mihalik and I am in the process of restoring a 1867 historical home. I successfully had the house and the barn registered on the National Registry of Historic Places as the Orson Minot Oviatt House. “The General” Oviatt was a early settler to the Western Reserve and a prominent figure in Cleveland politics.
I postponed my retirement by personally funding over $200,000 in renovations to the Old Victorian but I can’t go it alone for the Barn. Operating the property as the Cuyahoga Valley Inn, I would love to restore the barn and use it as a public space for family celebrations, and educational resource for local schools. However, the concrete foundation is compromised, the third floor is falling onto the second, it needs significant cleanup and the second floor need reinforced. If you have a special passion for saving American icons such as Midwest barns, any help you can provide would be appreciated. All funds will be managed by HlpSum1 Inc., a for-profit Ohio based corporation.
