Save Historic Architecture of Laguna Beach

Tax deductible
Please make a tax-deductible donation to protect Laguna's extraordinary historic built environment. The City Council recently voted to dismantle almost forty years of historic preservation protections, and developers are clamoring to reinvent Laguna Beach. Hundreds of identified historic resources are now threatened with demolition and substantial alteration , including some sixty properties on Coast Highway alone.

Preserve Orange County, the Laguna Beach Historic Preservation Coalition, and Village Laguna are fighting back. We have hired California's foremost environmental attorney for historic resources, Susan Brandt-Hawley, to litigate our case. The City violated the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) when it decided that eliminating protections for hundreds of  historic resources “could not have a significant impact” on those resources or on the aesthetics of Laguna.

Please help us raise the funds to preserve and protect Laguna, which is treasured not only by residents but by millions of visitors each year. Our lawsuit will help ensure that the historic fabric of Laguna Beach, recognized as a “Historic American Landscape” by the National Park Service  in 2017, will not be destroyed. Thank you!
