Save HawleyHurst

We are one school, HawleyHurst.  We came together in January 2018 under a shadow on adversity but together we fought for our children and together we have shown everyone that we are a community of like minded people with a brilliant selection of children.   We are stronger together.

Our school has always protected our children, supported its parents and its staff and last night we were devastated to find that we had been beaten financially.  I am therefore, asking you for help to save us.

Over the past few hours so many of you have been so supportive and have expressed your desire to help make it possible for us to survive this crazy and unforeseen time.

I myself, have worked here and for Hurst Lodge for 14 years and my children have all been fortunate enough to have been cared for and guided through their education by a remarkable group of people.

As well as my children having made amazing friends I have had the privilege of working with a wonderful set of people who inspire me as well as my children, every day.

Today a parent shared a text message that was sent to her daughter by a classmate, I would like to share it with you....

'When I started at HawleyHurst if I was honest I thought it a horrible place. The first term was awful because I had to settle in and it was different, but after a while when I got to know you all and I wished that I could become really good friends with you, and we did, and I am so grateful that you included me even though you had known each other for years and you still included me.  At my old school people judged me that I had an LSA and they had to be with me even at break or lunch so nobody wanted to play with me.  But at HawleyHurst you feel welcome and I just wanted to say how thankful that I am for that.'

What makes us great, what makes this statement great, is that it encapsulates what we do and who we are to so many.  We have enormous diversity and enormous empathy among our students.

I am therefore, calling upon you all, colleagues, parents and friends to ask if you can help us at this enormously difficult time.
