Save Hanh's life

Towards the end of October a very close Vietnamese friend of ours, Hanh Nguyen, went to Korea for a short visit but unfortunately had a very serious problem with her health soon after she arrived there which required an emergency operation in Hanyang University Hospital in Seoul. We understand from the doctors that she had a subarachnoid haemorrhage ( burst blood vessel in the brain ); it has now been over two weeks and she is still in a deep coma.
It is a very severe problem, made worse by happening in a foreign country and where the cost of living and the cost for the operation and treatment are all very much higher than in her native Vietnam. Unfortunately Hanh’s travel insurance only covers her for accidents overseas, not illness, and her health insurance does not cover illness overseas. The initial cost for the operation and the first day’s care alone was about £20,000 ( US$ 25,000 ) and we have no idea yet of subsequent costs, how long she will have to remain in hospital or in Korea but it is anticipated that the total costs will be well in excess of £100,000. One of her two sisters has had to travel at short notice to assist in her care and take responsibility for Hanh; these additional travel and accommodation costs are themselves high.
Their father has been receiving treatment for liver cancer for several years and Hanh has been the prime benefactor for all his treatment, the only one of the family financially able to do so. They haven’t even dared to let their Parents know yet, as they are afraid that they will not be able to cope with the shock of knowing what has happened to their lovely daughter.
It is impossible for a normal Vietnamese family to be able to afford these costs. So far money has been borrowed from friends in order to pay part of the initial cost to ensure that Hanh gets treatment; but until enough money has been raised to pay all the money owed, even when she recovers we understand that Hanh will not be allowed to return to Vietnam.
It would be very much appreciated if you could please support the family so that not only that Hanh’s life can be saved but she can return to her family in Vietnam as soon as possible.
