Help George Kick Cancer!

On July 21, we got the sad, shocking news that George, a husband, father, grandfather, and friend to all, has rectal cancer. At this time, the cancer is believed to be localized and his doctors are hopeful that they will be able to treat and remove, and are ready to begin treatments aggressively. George will go to treatment, which will entail both chemo and radiation, 5 days a week for 4 to 6 weeks, take a month off to get strong enough for surgery, and then have surgery to remove his tumor. However, George remains hopeful, often telling people he only has "a little cancer."
Unfortunately, things are not going so great financially for the family. George's truck broke down on the way to his FIRST oncologist appointment and will be very expensive to fix, so he rented a car that will be easier on gas to attend his appoinments. He will not be able to work while attending treatment, resulting in lost wages. George does have insurance, but has very expensive co-pays, and he has already put out over $1000 in co-pays (and he hasn't even started treatment yet). His insurance will only be covering 70% of his total expenses.
For those of you who are lucky enough to know George, you know he doesn't complain or ask for help. He has helped so many people, often stopping whatever he is doing to help someone in need. He donates his time and skills to help those in need. He is a friend to all and never says a bad word about anyone. We are hopeful that his treatments will begin within the next two weeks.
