Anyone who has met Faye Faye immediately falls inlove with her. She is a giver, always wanting to meet new people and give snuggles. She is usually a vibrant four year old rescue Chihuahua who likes to go on walks and sniff around the yard, but today she needs OUR help.
Her hemoglobin has plummeted and it is a mystery why her body started to attack its Erythrocytes, Leukocytes & Thrombocytes - all her blood cells, (red, and white). The doctors think it could be from an earlier vaccination and now her body is rejecting it internally, but we honestly don't know for sure. What we do know is that her blood platelets are so low that she is struggling to breath and urgently needs a series of blood transfusions. She is in dire need of these treatments to give us time to figure out the why and to get her stable.
Our family has already lost a beloved twenty year old Silky Terrier named George this year, and still heartbroken, we just can't imagine losing our beautiful little girl Faye Faye, named after the Gaelic word for Fairy - because she IS magical.
