Save Eddy's Eyeball

Monday, October 2nd, Eddy Monkey Jones woke up totally blind. He has been blind in his right eye for a few years (misdiagnosed glaucoma) but when he woke up Monday morning, it looked as if a firecracker went off inside of his good eye. He has been scared and unsure of how to get around the house the past couple days and it's been so sad seeing him this way. After a long day of consulting with specialists, we've come to learn that Eddy has a detached retina. It turns out that his right eye likely suffered the same fate which then developed glaucoma. The only way to restore vision in his eye requires an expensive surgery. We have to act soon because there's a short window of time that the surgery requires to be successful.

Eddy is 7 years young and is our Dog House CrossFit gym dog. Eddy isn't just special to us but he's special to his Dog House gym family as well. He lives to run, chase squirrels, frisbee and balls, and illegally break into the backyard cold tub for a swim. He has a zest for life that few can understand. He's so active and high energy that it's important that we try to get his one googly eye working for him again. We know he is tough and would adjust to blindness like a champ, but we feel as though we owe him the chance to be able to see again!

With the cost of surgery being high, we're calling on Eddy's favorite friends and family to help us save his eyeball. Any little bit helps out! Being blind isn't life threatening and we're confident that Eddy would adapt just fine. We want everyone to understand that the nature of this campaign is more deeply rooted in love than necessity. We thank you in advance for loving our pup and supporting his mission in being able to see the mailman again.
