My best friend Daisy, a seven-year-old basset hound, is in trouble. Almost exactly a week ago, after a standard test at the veterinary office, she got very ill. She quickly went into respiratory distress. Her gums and eyelids turned white. We rushed her to the Kalamazoo VCA Animal Hospital, where they were unable to help her because they had no blood. We then rushed her to Blue Pearl Animal Hospital in Grand Rapids, where by a miracle she survived the car ride. They were able to stop the bleeding, and over a period of three days of antibiotics, fluids, blood clotting medication, and two blood transfusions, she slowly started to stabilize but did not improve. Her pancreas is inflamed, her adrenal gland is severely swollen, she has pneumonia, and a kidney infection. After $9,000 in vet bills, we had to bring her home and treat her to the best of our ability.

Two days ago, she had a recheck at the local vet where her kidneys are stable for now, but my dog is still very sick and needs to see an internal medicine doctor at the Blue Pearl Animal Hospital in Grand Rapids on July 29. This will cost us $950 to get her seen and some imaging. That does not include labs. We are completely out of money and I'm not sure what we're gonna do, but she seems to get weaker and weaker every day. I am begging and pleading for help to save her life. Anything you can do will be extremely appreciated. This little girl is the center of our family, and I truly do not believe I can live without her.
