Laurel Elementary community and friends, Our school needs your help. There's a budget crisis at Oakland Unified School District, forcing Laurel to cut $64,000 from this year's school budget -- roughly $121 per student. These cuts will happen in the next few weeks and will affect all Laurel students. We are at risk of losing essential and much-loved staff and programs like our: - Librarian - Computer teacher - Teaching coach - Playworks program and coach - Lincoln Behavioral Services The Laurel PTA is asking that we as a community come together to raise the money to save our critical programs and services.
