Save Cooper the Therapy Pug!
Hello my lovelies!
My name is Cooper, but you probably know me as Cooper On Wheels. My human companion likes to call me Scoopie or Cooper the Guardian. Now, I am not exactly sure just how good of a guardian I am but I’ll accept the latter!
I was recently taken to the doggy clinic where a beautiful young doctor said I was admitted and evaluated for lethargy, decreased appetite, and bloody urine. They may not realize this, but I understand "human" quite well and won't be seeking a second opinion because I haven't been my usual self lately. I can't eat and can't drink water. All this has caused for my urination to be quite frequent and quite painful.
The humans are sure I have Addison's disease. But I won't know until I get all of the tests done.
It appears I need a series of exams that will result in an overnight hospital stay. Just the thought of being away from my human makes me SO anxious, but a pugs gotta do what a pugs gotta do. Right?
I also overhead them mention something about my own immune system fighting itself, and I may have incurred some kidney damage caused by incontinence and "my handicap."
What is that, anyway? I go whenever my body feels like going! And I'm not handicapped... I have wheels! How many dogs do YOU know that have wheels? I must be bionic or something.
Now, for those of you who are wondering, I do not use my special contraption indoors. I use it outside while I am warming the hearts of the ladies, and putting smiles on the faces of the children I meet. Indoors I just scoot from place to place. My speed depends on if I am in trouble (glacial pace) or if it's mealtime (think: flash).
In addition to being the most obedient and loving dog a companion could ever hope for, I am also a therapy dog. That's right! I volunteer my nap time by visiting nonprofits to help and inspire young children. I most recently visited an amazing organization that helps children who suffer from cancer. I was pleasantly surpised to see other children with their own set of wheels. From the looks of it, the kids were so happy to chase me around and shower me with affection. Both of which were greatly appreciated.
As you can tell, I love life and the people I get to meet every day.
