After working long hours for many years and saving money, David was able to open the centre over 7 years ago, turning his dream into a reality.
When David first took the tenancy, the space was in extreme disrepair; the poor conditions meant initially running the centre at a loss, due to the large investment required in both time and money. With the help and support of many students, Circle Martial Arts became what it is today.
The centre also houses other instructors that find it very difficult to hire any premises else were due to the really expensive charges in Manchester.
The majority of groups attending the centre are children, students and individuals who are in need of support regarding their health, confidence and well being.
The centre runs at little to no profit and has been able to do so for many years, but now the centre is at risk of potentially closing its doors. This leads us to our current situation:
We were demanded by the landlords to sign a new lease paying a considerably increase of rent if we wanted to carry on teaching in the premises. We then found out within a couple of weeks that a hearing took place with the developers intention to potentially renovating and demolishing this building.
You can imagine how we felt when we knew this was going to happen after just signing a new lease.
Now we need funds so that we can continue providing this service and helping people through Martial Arts.
Mooving to new premises it's very costly and we need some help to be able to do this.
Many martial arts academies have already had to close their doors or have been pushed out of Manchester City Centre by greedy commercial companies.
Please help Circle Martial Arts so that we can continue helping and supporting the community, any donation is truly appreciated.
We will be holding fund raising activities and offer free sessions to those that donate.
