Brisket, Somerlan's beloved 2-year-old rescue dog, has been diagnosed with Aspergillosis, a rare, dangerous, and possibly lethal fungal infection that is slowly affecting his brain and causing severe symptoms, including inflammation and bloody leakage through his nasal passages; and can include deterioration of his facial structure and decaying & necrotic tissue in his nasal passages. Somerlan adopted Brisket after fostering him, and he quickly became the heart of her home. Unfortunately, his condition wasn't known at the time of adoption.
Brisket has already undergone one round of treatment, which cost over $5,000, Somerlan has also purchased a $2,500 salt tent to help ease his symptoms, she has worked with a nutritionist to improve his care, she has driven all over California paying for vet visits, getting second opinions, and now, Brisket is facing a second round of treatment, which will cost another $5,000. His care plan is promising if he gets the treatment he needs, but the financial burden is becoming overwhelming, and Somerlan's funds are running low. She might have to consider euthanasia, as these treatments are frequent and very costly. Let’s help her get the care Brisket needs for the procedural outcomes to be effective, so she, Brisket and Rye can all live a long and happy life together!! Her dogs are her entire world and the thought of putting down her fur baby would be absolutely devastating.
For those who don't have the privilege of knowing Somerlan personally, she is one of the most selfless, generous, and thoughtful people you could ever meet. She has made a dramatic impact on my life and has continually made sacrifices for me my entire life expecting nothing in return. She would never ask for help (nor does she know we are doing this) but as her family, it's our turn to support her and Brisket during this difficult time.
We’re reaching out to you, asking for any support to help with Brisket’s ongoing treatment. Your contribution will not only help save his life but will also provide relief for an amazing person who has always put others before herself. Thank you for considering helping Somerlan and Brisket in this time of need, all contributions are graciously accepted and widely appreciated. Thank you!
