Help Save Brenda´s Life
Brenda’s story is one of unimaginable pain, courage, and hope for a better future. She is a mother, a fighter, and a survivor—but right now, she faces a challenge that she cannot overcome alone.
Brenda was born and raised in Honduras, a country that she was forced to leave. The violence and insecurity in her community turned life into a nightmare. Her daughter was at risk of being kidnapped—twice—and her son was threatened at gunpoint. Friends and family members were lost due to gangs and violence. So, in 2021, she made the heartbreaking decision to leave everything behind and seek safety in the United States.
Reaching the U.S. border took 29 exhausting days filled with fear and danger. Brenda endured it all for her children, believing that a better life awaited them on the other side. But instead of finding refuge, Brenda encountered the unimaginable.
One day, Brenda was caught in the crossfire of a shooting. A stray bullet struck her, embedding itself in her skull, just between her eyebrows. That bullet is still there.
The consequences have been devastating. Brenda has lost vision in one eye and lives with pain every single day. Her life is in constant danger. The bullet in her skull could cause fatal complications at any moment—an infection, brain damage, or losing her life.
She needs help now. Urgent medical attention is required to evaluate her condition and, hopefully, remove the bullet. This surgery could save her life and give her a chance to live without the constant fear of death.
Because of her legal status, she has no access to medical insurance. Her injury has left her unable to work due to different reasons.
The funds raised through this campaign will go directly toward life-saving medical care: consultations with specialists, critical exams, and the surgery to remove the bullet. Donations will also help Brenda cover basic needs like food, rent, and medications while she recovers.
Brenda’s story is heartbreaking but also a story of resilience. She has survived so much—violence, displacement, and trauma—and yet she continues to fight for her children and the hope of a better future.

La historia de Brenda es de dolor profundo, valentía y de esperanza de que un futuro mejor aún sea posible. Ella es madre, luchadora y sobreviviente, pero ahora enfrenta un desafío que no puede superar sola.
Brenda nació y creció en Honduras, pero se vio obligada a dejar su país natal. La violencia y la inseguridad en su comunidad convirtieron su vida en un desafío. Su hija estuvo a punto de ser secuestrada dos veces, y su hijo fue amenazado con un arma. Amigos y familiares cercanos perdieron la vida debido a la violencia que enfrenta su país. Como madre, no tuvo otra opción que proteger a sus hijos. En 2021, tomó la difícil decisión de dejarlo todo atrás y buscar seguridad en los Estados Unidos.
Migrar fue muy complejo. Le tomó 29 días agotadores, llenos de miedo y peligros para llegar a la frontera de Estados Unidos. Brenda soportó todo por sus hijos, creyendo que una vida mejor los esperaba al otro lado. Pero, en lugar de encontrar refugio, Brenda enfrentó lo inimaginable.
Un día como cualquier otro, mientras estaba en lo que debería haber sido la seguridad de su propio hogar, Brenda quedó atrapada en medio de un tiroteo. Una bala perdida la alcanzó, incrustándose en su cráneo, justo entre las cejas. Esa bala todavía está allí.
Las consecuencias han sido devastadoras. Brenda perdió la visión en un ojo y vive con un dolor insoportable y constante cada día. Su vida está en peligro continuo. La bala en su cráneo podría provocar complicaciones fatales en cualquier momento: una infección, daño cerebral o algo peor. Brenda vive con el conocimiento de que su vida está en peligro.
Brenda necesita ayuda ahora. Es urgente que reciba atención médica para evaluar su caso y con suerte, extraer la bala. Esta cirugía podría salvarle la vida y darle una mejor calidad de vida. Sin embargo, debido a su estatus legal, no tiene acceso a un seguro médico y su lesión, debido a diferentes factores, la ha dejado incapacitada para trabajar.
Por eso Brenda necesita tu ayuda. Los fondos recaudados se destinarán directamente a la atención médica que puede salvar su vida: consultas con especialistas, exámenes cruciales y la cirugía para extraer la bala. También ayudarán a Brenda a cubrir necesidades básicas como comida, renta y medicamentos mientras se recupera.
