Update May 9th:
Bo, my baby girl, is at peace. May 1st, 10:55am.

Bo was a beautiful soul that touched the lives of many. Her legacy will live on through friends, family, her dog walkers, the Walgreens manager, pet store employees, even strangers on the street... She was faithful and true to all of us, to the very last beat of her heart. I will miss her every day for the rest of my life. Bo was my best friend, my loyal companion, my defender and soul mate, the extension of my finger tips...I love you Bo. Thank you all for your loving support of Bo. She loved you all.

To all of who love Bo and animals alike, Thank you for you donations and support through this excruciating time.

Bo Baltzley's story:

She was full of life until, she got a bad case of diarrhea around March 6th. I took her to the vet where she had a full exam. Her blood and stool tests came back negative for any issues or, parasites. I then took her to another vet for a "second opinion" and, they gave her an ultrasound on her abdomen. She was diagnosed with IBD. By this time she had already lost 10 pounds. The doctors put her on steroids to suppress  her immune system and Zeniquin antibiotics to help with any infection. But, after 10 days, Bo was not getting any better.  She weighs 43 pounds. I went to both vets and pleaded for help. They referred me to a specialist in Beaverton called Oregon Veterinary Specialist. I drove her there the next day and she received an x-ray showing abnormalities in her esophagus. Dr. Franklin scheduled an endoscopy right away. What he found was Lymphoma in her GI tract. He said un-treated, dogs live 15-30 days. Bo received her first chemo April 23rd. Bo survived 9 weeks.  She loved me and she loved life...

Loving to romp and dash,
No one predicted this crash,
One day so healthy and strong,
Now she languishes all day long.

Once graceful and sleek, Now shrunken with hurt and confused eyes,
That bring tears to the cheek.
Beautiful Bo’s deep gaze instantly ties,

Your compassionate soul to hers.

Therapy dog to all and girl’s best friend,
No great love can transcend.
Please help this magnificent soul
She’s too young for this disease to take its toll.

"I think we are drawn to dogs because they are the uninhibited creatures we might be if we weren't certain we knew better."
 —George Bird Evans, author

"It came to me that every time I lose a dog they take a piece of my heart with them,  and every new dog who comes into my life gifts me with a piece of their heart. If I live long enough, all of the components of my heart will be dog,  and I will become as generous and loving as they are. "
