Save Baby Kit: MandaLao Elephant Conservation

COVID-19 has changed all of our lives. And these changes have been negative for most living creatures on earth. One of the animals most affected are elephants living in captivity. With the enormous costs associated with caring for them most eco-tourism projects no longer have the funds to feed them - let alone provide them with best care possible. 

 

While we have, with the help of many elephant advocates, been able to raise funds needed to keep our elephants at MandaLao Elephant Conservation happy and healthy, another very real risk looms. With elephant owners unable to afford their elephants, the illegal sale of Lao elephants to China, where they are sent perform in circuses and kept in cages in zoos is a very real possibility. 


We fear that our baby bull elephant, Bab Kit, could be taken from us and face this same dismal fate.  With your help, though, we can pay for him and be assured ownership. Our goal for Kit has always been the same. Sired by a wild elephant, we want him to have the same opportunity to live his life in the wild, as well.  This is where he and all elephants should ultimately be.
