Save Ashley's

Ann Arbor, since 1983, Ashley's has been your destination for a great pint, a special Scotch, and a welcome respite from hard work and studies.  We so often hear "that was my favorite place when I was in school."  We were serving imported and craft beer before every gas station on the corner had it. It has been our sincerest pleasure to serve our community for 37 years. In the midst of this COVID-19 virus and with the order to shelter in place from Governor Whitmer, we are closed. Like so many of our great neighborhood businesses, we don't know how long we will last and whether or not we will be able to weather this storm. Anyone who has had the privilege and the burden of running a small restaurant knows that there is never a big profit margin or a big cushion to fall back on.  While none of knows what the future holds, our fear right now is keeping the people who work for us safe. Ashley's employees and their families depend on us for health insurance and income. We have always looked out for our employees. We are not raising funds primarily to save the restaurant, we are raising funds to avoid a crisis for anyone who depends on us.  We are hoping to be able to pay the health insurance bill, support our staff modestly, and, if at all possible, keep the restaurant viable.   In these difficult and uncertain times, we know that finances are tight for many of us.  All of the Ashley's staff will be grateful for any show of support that you can manage at this time. It has been a pleasure to be part of your lives for all of these years.  Roy and I hope that when the worst has passed and it is safe, we will all be together again.  Thank you for considering this request.
