Hello everyone, my name is Nate and I'm the owner of the Golden Retriever Asher. I was in the Marine Corps for 8 years and Asher has gotten me through so many tough bumps in life mentally and spiritually. You couldn't ask for a better dog. He loves everyone with his entire heart and then some.
He was diagnosed with Laryngeal Paralysis, which in short means that the flaps in his throat won't open and close normally. So anytime he gets excited, which is all the time, he is at risk of heat stroke and suffocation.
I took him to the dog park yesterday and let him have the time of his life before he almost keeled over and died right in front of me. This is unfortunately a genetic disease that was not avoidable. He is only 3 and a half years old and has the potential to live so much longer.
I ask that you find it in your heart to donate something, even if it is a couple dollars. I had an emergency fund set up in case of situations like this, but his emergency room visit costed $4,200 and that pretty much drained everything I have. I've never been a person to ask for handouts, but I will fight and try everything in my power to save my best friend.
Thank you so much
