Our Friend, Andy Brewer, is currently facing a struggle with Prostate Cancer and is back in Utah, living with his family. His medical expenses are mounting and he needs our help. His Brothers and Sisters have set up this fund to help Andy with his bills. Andy is receiving care at the University of Utah. He is currently in the first stage of radiation treatment. Andy is in good spirits and very calm and alert.
“Brew,” as many people called him, is a living legend in the snowboard community and a dear friend to us all. At 53 years old, he has been on one or two planks for well over 49 years. He hails from Utah and spent his early years shredding on the slopes of Alta and Brighton but he really made his impact in Little Cottonwood Canyon at Snowbird in Utah.
His snowboarding style could be best described as Punk Rock. His low and powerful skate style, along with his carefree attitude made him a magnet of the community. He was the first person many of us saw rail slide on skis. On hard pack days he could be seen sessioning with the snowboarders on 210 Blizzards jibbing off of everything in sight. We all spent time with Brew, shared amazing pow days with him, laughed our asses off with him, and grew to love him. His style set the tone for what would become the way people rode and viewed the steep terrain in Little Cottonwood. He was a pioneer of the “kicker party’s” up in Grizzly, one of the original Winterstick riders, an amazing skater, Ogden and Salt Lake loc’, GBG OG, and a member of the first crew to rip tram laps at “Tha’ Bird”.
In our first day we raised over $1300.00 dollars but we have a long way to go and need your help. Any donations would be greatly appreciated. Every penny counts.
