Save an American Shrimping Boat!

My name is Clint Boyd and I’ve seen first hand how incredible this South Carolina dock is! My Bride and I own Saltwater Markets in our home town communities near Charlotte, NC. We go down to the Village Creek, SC docks each week to pick up short trip premium shrimp to supply the markets back home. On our last trip, we met tragedy at the docks following a very damaging fire aboard one of the boats, the Lydia Leigh. There are homes on these boats- for some, the boats are their only home. Thankfully the crew of the Lydia (named after Mrs Reaves grandmothers) have other homes on land. Through the Reaves family  witness on these docks and love for the Lord in their day to day interaction with crews, I’ve seen lives destined for tragedy saved by Grace and transformed to lives of Hope lived for the Lord! After a winter of working on the Lydia Leigh in preparation of shrimp season, she caught fire 2 nights ago and suffered severe loss at the docks. Gratefully, she was at dock where the fire could be fought. Still, Capt Reaves reported an approximate $100,000 in damage. If you can, when you can, please help this family keep hope and work alive on this beautiful Carolina dock! You’ll be making a difference. We not only bring back what we call “diamond” shrimp from these docks. Each trip, we bring back hope.

Want to know who donated the first $50? A deckhand on another family boat. $50 cash and a smile. His name was Clint too. Elizabeth and I shrimped with him Monday aboard the Gracie Belle. He was the first to run across a flaming roof to help with the fire as his home, the Gracie Belle, was parked right next to the fire.
