Save Akeema

I'm being told he's wrecked. (But not unsaveable) Spinal disc degeneration at L5, L6, stage 4 of 4 (worst) congenital hip dysplasia, that in part is contributing to his knees being destroyed. He limps all the time now or holds his foot in the air. I have to limit his walks and play.  He's in constant pain and has to pee like a girl now because his rear quarters are so bad he cant just lift the leg like he used to. Severe degeneration in one of his knees and the CCL (think like an ACL in people..kinda sorta) is due to blow out and make the leg unusable. ON top of this, like the rest ain't enough, his OTHER knee is beginning to degenerate and is at risk for the same injury if the bad one isn't made useable fast. He needs immediate surgery and I just don't have the money and I'm hoping we can fix him before disaster strikes.

His story:
I adopted Akeema over the summer. He is a big guy and was a little underweight when I got him. Extremely lovable, too smart for his own good, well behaved and took to his training really well. But after a couple days I quickly realized there's something wrong with him. After a couple of weeks thinking maybe he pulled something, but didn't get better, I scheduled a vet appointment. (of course everything is slow and months out due to COVID). After spending nearly $1000 and multiple visits for meds, x-rays, referral and again referral to someone else, with more "consultations" on the way, I'm about tapped out but already told he needs knee surgery. More consultation on the way smh, but I'm being told he probably needs whats called TPLO surgery which slightly alters how the joint works and saves it. (Updates or corrections as I find out.)

We used to do 3 miles of accumulated walks every day with mixed sprinting when he first got home. Usually half in the morning and the other half at night. Now a 10 minute walk is pushing it. He's stiff and sore every night. He cant even jump into the backseat of my car without help anymore.  Its breaking my heart to see him like this. He's only 3 years old. Born a natural athlete with a great temperament, and even good with little kids, but condemned to injury and pain. I'm trying to keep him alive and moving, loving life and mostly out of pain but I need your help. WE need your help. Help me SAVE AKEEMA!

I'm trying to give him the best life possible, but now I need your help. Please contribute. Be a part of his story!
