Save A Cowboy, Ride This Campaign

Hi Everybody,
We have set up this GoFundMe page to help a very dear friend. He is a hard working, master carpenter who is self-employed. His name is Dan Connelly but friends know him as "Cowboy".
It's difficult to sum up a man's life in just a few paragraphs, especially when he's an amazing father, brother and friend to many.
Dan is a hard-working carpenter who is self-employed and had been experiencing a knee issue so he went for an evaluation. It seemed as though it might be his ACL and meniscus which is pretty common for his career, as well as playing on men's league hockey teams over the years. However, an MRI revealed something much more severe. Blood work and images showed Lymphoma in his bone at the knee and it had begun to travel toward the inguinal canal (groin area). After his diagnosis, it was very clear that the treatments must begin immediately.
After Cowboy told his family and a few friends, the word spread quickly. The overwhelming response by all was we need to help and we need to start this campaign right away. Although Cowboy is a suburban Chicago guy, he has spent the last many years 1200 miles away in San Antonio, Texas. He was a champion boxer in his youth and is now in for the fight of his life. Although we can't be there to bring him dinners or take him to the doctor, we can at least try to take some of the financial burden off of his plate.
Surgery, treatments, chemo-therapy, travel and all the unforeseen expenses will add up quickly, not to mention the inability to work while this is going on. To understand Dan, is to hear his response when many of us told him about creating a "Go Fund Me" campaign for him.
"As much as I appreciate everyone's intentions, I feel like people's donations can go to some kid that would need it more than me."
Our response was simple, "You are that kid".
We are reaching out to all of Dan's friends and family and are hoping that even those who don't know Cowboy like we do will take a moment to change a life with a small contribution.
Please help a stranger who would absolutely give you the last buck in his wallet or the jacket off of his back to someone in need. He is a loving, generous man who is one of the best story tellers that come from personal life experiences full of adventure. His adventure will not stop here. Together we can all make a difference.
