Save 7th Street Deli!

Hi, my name is Debbie Allen and I am fundraising for 7th Street Deli. 7th Street Deli is a place like no other in Grand Junction, CO. We are calling this fundraiser "Save the Deli" The Deli is in immediate danger of closing due to back rent owed the landlord. How did we get in this position?? Unfortunately we had a series of events that got us where we are today. First thing that happened was 7th Street construction in the late spring of 2018 and then again the same time of year in 2019. This caused a 50% loss of business. Next was Covid that hit in 2020 and we were forced to close down all dine in business. We were still hanging in there and the restaurant stayed open for take out with only the 2 owners working. With little income to work with we started to get behind in rent, sales tax and vendor payments. We worked with the City of Grand Junction and State Revenue sales tax departments. We got caught up with the State sales tax division and we are 2 months shy of paying back the City on our agreement. The next big hurdle was back rent but it seems the landlord has run out of patience with us. We were handed an eviction notice on January 5th and asked to vacate or pay the back rent within 30 days. So.....we need money fast to save the deli. We may need to move our location if the landlord does not want to let us stay.

7th Street Deli has been open for over 15 years. We bought the deli in 2014 and have loved being a part of the medical/ business community for the past 8 years. We serve a niche that you just don't find anywhere else. We are a family owned and operated business. Our customers have become dear friends and we worry about them when we don't see their faces for a while. While our food speaks for itself because we strive to make everything we serve fresh, healthy and delicious. Please help us to continue our passion to serve this delicious food to our community .
