Save 1220 AM WQUN!

Community radio is a lifeline, especially in small towns like Hamden. Having personalities on the air who care about the community, and who keep you company is one of the reasons I wanted to get into radio in the first place. My partner and I, Glenn Summers, are trying to buy WQUN-AM 1220 in Hamden Connecticut to keep the last truly local station in the area alive and doing what it does best - inform and entertain. Local news, local weather, local sports, and local personalities deserve a home..but we need your help to make it happen. We are trying to buy the station from Quinnipiac University, and are in talks with various banks to try and get a loan to buy the station (the license itself and the transmitter site) - but we need a down payment. Both of us work full time, but unfortunately do not have $20,000 lying around as a down payment.

We believe in the power of local radio, and want to keep it alive in Hamden and New Haven County - so if you can, please donate. 

And when we reach this goal and 1220 AM is back on the air, we will have a celebrating at the top of Sleeping Giant!
