Help Lorraine Rodier Beat Cancer

I have been diagnosed with Vaginal Squamous Cell Carcinoma. This required surgery removing part of my Vagina and external genitalia. While DHMC is a great hospital, this is a rare cancer that I have already developed infection from the surgery. DHMC is too far for the extensive care that I will need on a long term basis without housing there. Our local hospital is not equipped with the type of specialized care required.  While Boston is far, I have a friend that lives very close to a wonderful hospital, Beth Israel Deconess Medical Center, and I can have full time care while having access to treatment and care in a reasonable manner, especially in an emergency situation. I am not the one to make these things. I hate to even think to be this person, But I have a family. 3 kids and 4 grand babies. I have not been able to spend the time I need to with them now, So I will write. I also want to share my story for awareness. The treatment for this will require multiple surgeries over a long period of time. While I have insurance, many things are not covered. The biggest of course is my bills that I normally pay for daily survival. But now the travel and out of state expenses as well. Travel back and forth to Boston on a regular basis is what I have to do for my care now.  My family is everything to me and having them here while I have a treatment or procedure would be wonderful but is far too expensive on a long term basis. While we have a wonderful friend that is helping us and would have a place to stay during those times. Still working on my medication being covered which they assure me it will. Some procedures are not covered at all or only by plans that I clearly do not have.  I know it is a lot  to ask to donate. Times are hard all around. I am not a rocket scientist. I am not going to find a cure for AIDS. I am just a person. But this person has an amazing family and I want to be there with them as they grow. I also would like to have them here in times of stress, because trust me it truly helps. If you can help, every little bit helps because the gas alone is a heavy weight. If you can't, I understand but maybe you could give it a share so this has a shot. The sharing is the stinky part. Because sharing is the only way I am going to get any exposure. This is what I need.
