Savannah is a 6-year-old girl that has a BIG heart and a philanthropic spirit. She's making preparations for her 7th birthday and this year is going to be bigger and better!!!
A little birthday history for you...
Savannah's 5th birthday was celebrated with family and friends and in lieu of gifts, she collected supplies for the Human Society of Tampa Bay. The turn out was awesome and we had a great time dropping off supplies and playing with the animals. A few months later, we ended up rescuing our own pup from there!
As Savannah's 6th birthday was approaching, she decided that she wanted to receive shoes as gifts instead of presents. Her reasoning behind this? Some kids don't have shoes and she wanted to make sure they did! So, we set out to make that her mission and WOW did our family and friends deliver!! We collected over 75 shoes at her birthday, she had a spot on our local news as "Hero of the Week", a donation of $250 dollars from Wal-Mart was gifted to her for MORE shoes, and a medal from the Children's Home of Tampa Bay was given to Savannah in honor of her donation when we dropped off the shoes. It was an AWESOME experience.
So, here we are... getting ready to celebrate another birthday. Savannah originally wanted to collect toys for children but that changed a couple weeks ago. This year’s choice??? She wants to send clean water to people because she saw a lady from India on TV that lost her child from dirty water. This lady also has another child and Savannah wants to make sure that her second child doesn't die as well. Yes, our hearts are full!!!
So, we looked around, asked around, researched, you name it...but we finally came up with an organization that we will be donating money and/or supplies to.
The charity of choice is Food for the Poor ~ all of what we collect will be given in honor of Savannah's 7th birthday and in memory of Pastor Charles Robertson.

**Note - after some more research, we've decided to go with one Organization. Food for the Poor is known for almost all proceeds going to the cause....very little is spent on fundraising and almost none of the money goes towards admin fees. We want to make sure that this money is going towards it's intended purpose...to help those in need. So, with the being said, all donations will go to Food for the Poor. THANK YOU**
