Sauvie Island Cove RV Park Fire Victims

Hi, this is Kristen at Island Cove RV Park. On Monday night, we had a devastating fire on our property that destroyed 6 trailers. Thank goodness everyone and their animals made it out safely. However as many were sleeping, they had no time to grab any personal belongings and have lost everything.

It was heartbreaking to watch neighbor after neighbor watch everything they own go up in flames. Our volunteer fire department came to the rescue as quickly as possible, but we are rural and had lost 6 by that time. They are having to find temporary living situations while they make a plan for the future.

We are hoping to raise funds to help our neighbors as they build back their lives. We live in a small community where we all know and take care of each other. Each of these neighbors have always been there to help when needed. Each one of them more worried about the victim than themselves. Affected victims include an Uber/Lyft driver, employee of Market of Choice, retired military, and several retirees on fixed income.
