Saturday Respite
Donation protected
We are Saturday Respite a service supporting young people with mild learning difficulties and Autism Spectrum Disorder and problems with social communication. We wish to raise £15,000 in the next 6 months to maintain our service and broaden the choice of activities and external trips we offer without having to raise fees for parents and carers.
We were formed in 2016 and are proud of how we have expanded from a small youth club using school hall premises to today running our sessions from Barking College. As well as our service users gaining social skills amongst their peers, we provide an environment where they can be involved in activities such as sport and cookery.
Financial support in this area continuously face government cuts and whilst all 3 SR directors offer their time outside of their normal employment to run the service, we cannot continue to do this without significantly raising fees. We fear that by doing so will result in us losing service users or cutting back on our well-established service model. The money raised will help pay toward the cost of the premises at the college which provides a safe environment for the 20 young people who currently attend our sessions, and give the much needed respite for their parents and carers.
It will mean a great deal to us if we can continue to make Saturday Respite
an affordable and meaningful outlet to those who need it the most, and hope that you support our cause by donating what you can.
Thank you.
