Hi All! Many of you know Sassy Molassy Bobassy's story. She followed us home three years ago, a couple of weeks after my old man and BFF Dodge had passed. She was a mess, and after a vet visit, we discovered that at some point, her jaw had been broken and that her old owners did not want her back. She fit right into our house, so we obviously agreed that she would stay with us. She's been doing wonderfully and is happy to tell the world all about her spicy Beagle self. Sassy is a champion snuggler and will happily alert you about the squirrels that are probably plotting against you three blocks away.
A few months ago, the vet was worried that she may have something called laryngeal paralysis, which was a pretty nerve-wracking diagnosis. I was able to get her into a specialist who completed an exam and x-rays, and what she has going on is an enlarged heart. Russell immediately said, "Well, I always said she has a big heart." The biggest, she's the sweetest and best girl. We are taking her in on Friday for a full cardiac workup which will be $500-$800 depending on what is needed. After that, we'll need to follow back up with her specialist, which will be another $200 or so. The specialist and all her new supplements (our Beagle child is on better supplements than we are) were already close to $1200.
We'll absolutely get this done with or without some help, but we could for sure use it! The workup will tell us how much extra help she will need with meds and supplements, and give us a realistic idea of how we can give her the most time and comfort over the next (hopefully) several years.
Anything extra raised will go towards paying down her last bill (Sassy says she will not be getting a job, but her epic snuggles will remain completely free of charge.)
If anyone who donates would like a remote session in exchange, please let me know!!!
