Helping Sasha’s Dream Come True

Hello, my name is Sasha West. I am a 12 year old honor student studying dance at Gwinnett Ballet Theatre. I have been dancing since I was eight years old, and have dreams of becoming a professional ballerina. I have performed in numerous productions. Most recently, I had the leading role as Clara in "The Nutcracker" at Gwinnett Arena's Performing Arts Center.

Many would say that my passion for dance is undeniable. On a daily basis you will find me walking on tip toes, doing pirouettes and leaping all around the house. I spend countless hours at the studio training, which is worth the sacrifice to me because I really love it.

I am constantly looking for ways to improve my craft. Earlier this year, I auditioned for summer dance programs at Joffrey Ballet, American Ballet Theatre and Next Generation Ballet. I was accepted into all three programs. However, I have chosen to attend the three week program at Next Generation Ballet this summer in Tampa, FL.

Awarded "Outstanding School" at the Youth America Grand Prix (YAGP), New York City finals, Next Generation Ballet (NGB) is a stepping stone for great talent. Featuring 30 to 35 hours of instruction weekly, the NGB Summer Intensive program offers the perfect mix of a daily intense dance schedule, a structured and safe environment, and a professional performance opportunity on a world class stage.

The cost for this three week training program is $3,000, which includes tuition for the program, room and board. I am asking for your support to help with the cost of attending the summer intensive program. The due date for all funds is May 1, 2014.
