Jeff & Kelly Sardella Cancer Fight

Jeff is a Marine Corp veteran & Kelly is a hard working devoted wife and mother of one and together they live their lives to the absolute fullest each and every day.  They have been happily married for 28 years. They are fighting this cancer battle together since both of them have been diagnosed with Squamous Cell Carcinoma which is head and neck cancer. In June of 2019 Jeff’s dentist noticed a sore on his tongue which was shortly after diagnosed as stage 2 Squamous Cell Carcinoma (Cancer of the head and neck). In July of 2019 Jeff under went two major surgeries and a lengthy ICU stay to remove the cancerous tumor. He then began a rigorous treatment plan with the maximum levels of chemotherapy, immunotherapy and radiation treatments.  In November of 2019 his treatments were completed and Jeff began the long hard road of recovering.  During a routine check up in January 2020 a second tumor classified as stage 4 was discovered. In March of 2020 Jeff had a third surgery, a Glossectomy, that removed his entire tongue. Leaving him with a tracheotomy and feeding tube for an undetermined amount of time. Today Jeff is continuing to recover and fight the Cancer Battle, while adapting to a new normal. Two weeks before Jeff’s last surgery, Kelly was diagnosed with Squamous Cell Carcinoma.  She is just beginning her treatment plan of chemotherapy and radiation. All of their care teams have been unable to determine how this can happen just 8 months apart, and tumors inches away. They are both very grateful for the teams at MaryBird Perkins TGMC Cancer Center for everything they have done so far. Jeff and Kelly are looking for some help with all of the medical bills that accrue during these difficult times. Anything and everything helps.
