Saratoga Skatepark - Construction Fundraising

Donation protected
UPDATE September 9, 2022: We have lowered the visible fundraising goal to incorporate the donated funds on other platforms. Our overall goal is still $85,000. We will send out a press release detailing our current fundraising initiatives and dialogue with the City and School District. In addition, there will be a meeting on September 27th with the Recreation Commission to discuss any concerns and build dates. The commission is a Mayor appointed board of volunteers who make recommendations to the Mayor and the City of Saratoga Springs.

UPDATE April 18, 2022: We've partnered with our friends at Death Wish Coffee to run a matching donation campaign until June 1st, 2022. We're super grateful to them for their support of our local community! Any donation made between now and June 1st will be %100 matched by Death Wish Coffee up to a total of 25,000 dollars. This equates to a potential amount of 50,000 dollars raised!

On August 3, 2021, Saratoga's City Council voted unanimously to allocate 265,000 dollars towards the construction of a new, poured-in-place skatepark to replace the aging metal ramps that have been in place for 20 years. With the new park's price tag of 350,000 dollars, we are looking to raise the additional funds to make our new park a reality.

The design of our new skatepark will benefit beginners and experienced skaters alike, and with skateboarding's popularity soaring - as a result of both the pandemic and its inclusion in the Olympics - the replacement of the 20-year-old ramps with a completely concrete setup is a crucial step for this rapidly growing activity.

Skateparks not only offer recreation for locals but become an attraction for out-of-town skaters and families. While the same cannot be said for more 'traditional' sports facilities, skateparks promote tourism and help stimulate local businesses with visitors from other regions. Our new skatepark will attract families from all over the northeast and will continue to offer skaters year-round access.

The money we raise from this campaign will be used strictly for the construction of our new skatepark. With the city's generous funding, we're almost there, but we need your help to close the gap! Seeing our new design come to fruition is something that the skaters in our area have longed for years, and we're excited to gain community support for our goal in this final stretch!
