#SaraStrong to Beat Triple Negative Breast Cancer
Since being diagnosed with Triple-Negative Breast Cancer (TNBC) last November, Sara has spent 94 days at UCSF Medical Center receiving life saving cancer treatment.
On top of countless appointments, scans, and lab evaluations, Sara's treatment has included:
-27 cycles of 5 different chemo and immunotherapy drugs
-A lumpectomy, lymph node dissection, and hemithyroidectomy
-Oocyte cryopreservation (egg freezing to protect fertility)
And because of COVID-19, Sara has been forced to spend the vast majority of that time at the hospital alone, and without an income.
Sara turns 29 today, December 16th, and begins 6 weeks of radiation therapy which means another 35 days at the hospital between now and February.
It has been a lot.
While Sara has endured too much over the past 13 months on her own, she has a wonderful network of family, friends, and people who are rooting for her.

About Triple-Negative Breast Cancer:
*Triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) is rare and only accounts for 10-15% of all breast cancers.
*It is considered an aggressive cancer because it grows quickly, is more likely to have spread at the time it’s found, and is more likely to come back after treatment than other types of breast cancer. The outlook is generally not as good as it is for other types of breast cancer.
*Hormone therapies do not work for TNBC, which means there are significantly less treatment options for patients with TNBC.
