Hurricane Maria: Help Sara Ortiz

It wasn't until yesterday, 11 excruciating days since Hurricane Maria hit, that we finally heard from our mom in Puerto Rico.  We thank God that she survived and that we were able to speak to her very briefly before losing connection.  She said she is ok (though she told us she nearly drowned), but like so many, she lost everything: her car and every last thing in her house that suffered major damage.  She lives with and is caregiver for her sister and her medication is not easily accessible. We know she at least has some food and water that they are rationing.

We can't even begin to determine the help or money she will need, but we know she will need everything from basic necessities to  resource help and more. She lives in the town of Humacao on the eastern coast of the island, in the city of Naguabo. It's uncertain if her town is accessible  to those who may be trying to deliver aid and supplies.

We are overwhelmed with what's to come, but are so thankful for your help and support. Please donate what you can - no amount is too small. We are grateful to have such wonderful friends and family.
