Moms don’t get sick, right? Moms can’t get sick. Right?!

On the eve of her 37th birthday, she found the lump. Her husband told her it was all in her head- she was too young.  She has 4 daughters to take care of – she can’t be sick.

A mammogram was scheduled and resulted in an immediate biopsy (that can’t be good news). On December 29th, 2017, Sarah received the call that changed her life. Her doctor informed her that both areas (breast and lymph node) had come back cancerous. The tailspin began…

On January 7th, 2018, Sarah was officially diagnosed with Stage II B Invasive Ductal Carcinoma; triple negative, which is as scary as it sounds. Due to the aggressive nature of this cancer, her doctor and surgeon needed to act quickly.   She would have a chemo port installed into her neck and chest, and begin chemotherapy the following week.

Let’s talk about chemo for a moment: she lost her hair, she's covered in hives, and her liver is struggling to handle the drugs flooding her system on a weekly basis. Her nails are breaking, and her fingers go numb when she types at work, and then there’s the exhaustion that makes it hard to even think. She tries so hard to be involved with her girls, but many days can't make it off of the couch, or out of bed.  She has lost the taste for some of her favorite foods.  Family weddings will have to be skipped, along with sporting events, and her kids activities have to be limited since she cannot be out and about with her immune system being so low. Sarah has had to limit her time at work, because she doesn't have the energy, or is too ill to be there, and Ryan has cut back his hours as well, in order to take care of their large family.

Sarah is fighting fire with fire and refuses to give up. Once she is done with chemo in May, she will have a double mastectomy and then a full hysterectomy. No hormones producing organs= less chance for this to come back.

The Nadolny family continues fight every single day to keep their spirits up and kick this disease in the face. However, this has placed a huge financial burden on them. In addition to everyday needs they will be responsible for tens of thousands of dollars for her treatment and multiple surgeries.

We are asking you help this wonderful family keep afloat if you can. They are emotionally and physically exhausted, but not spiritually. Psalm 16:8 With Him at my right hand, I will not be shaken; this is Sarah’s mantra.

The family wishes to send a heartfelt thank you to all of those who have helped raise them up during this hard time.
God Bless.
