Sarah's Trials

Have you ever known someone who will do anything they can to help you and ask for nothing in return. And then when they are having problems will not ask for any help themselves. This describes my niece, Sarah in a nutshell. She is one of those amazing women who is always there for you and never asks for anything in return. Well, now she really needs help and I am hoping you can help me help her!

In the past year, Sarah has suffered many losses in her life. The death of her beloved grandmother and also her best friend and the serious illness of her grandfather. Through all of this she has stayed strong for her parents and brother.  During this time also, Sarah started having blisters to her face, the cause was determined to initially be Shingles.  Since her diagnosis of Shingles a year ago, she has suffered several exacerbations of the blisters. The cause is pretty much undetermined.  The severity of the recurrent blisters has caused permament damage to her Trigeminal Nerve. So now she suffers from Trigeminal Neuralgia.   Sarah has had severe pain to her face ever since the first diagnosis of Shingles. She tried to hide the pain from her family and friends.  Trigeminal Neuralgia is one of the most painful diseases. The pain is a severe, stabbing pain to the area on the face that is affected. In Sarah's case, the pain is a constant stabbing pain to her left eye, temporal area, and cheek. Add to that the reccurrent blisters cause a constant burning pain to the affected area. This also exacerbates the TN pain. The pain in now so severe she is unable to work due to the pain meds that she takes. Thank God, Her employer, Chili's, has been very supportive and understanding of Sarah and her health concerns.  Sarah also has the love and support of her wife of three years, Cat. Sarah has always been able to support her family-Her Wife-Cat, and their beautiful Daughter, Ava.    Her wife, Cat, is now trying to support them and go to college at the same time. She is studying to become a nurse.  To add insult to injury, Sarah was just diagnosed with a large rare cyst in the mesentery layer of the small intestin and required surgery to remove this.

Sarah will require further surgery also in the near future for the Trigeminal Neuralgia.  Since the diagnosis of TN she has seen multiple specialists. None have been able to determine the direct cause.  Sarah has not been able to work consistantly in the past year. Her face continues to break out in the severe blisters and the meds make it impossible for her to stay alert to drive to and from work.  The medical bills have started coming in and they have not been able to make their mortgage and other household bills. They are relying on family members to help with the essentials such as groceries, diapers, etc.  Sarah is the last one to ask for help, so I am doing it for her.

I am hoping to raise enough money for Sarah, Cat, and Ava to get them back on her feet.  Sarah and Cat would be the first people to help if you needed. Please donate if you can. We all understand if you are unable to donate, but please share.

Thank you again!
