In our lifetime, we meet thousands of people. If we’re lucky, we’ll meet a handful of people that leave a lasting impression on our hearts, impact our souls, and forever change our lives. 

 

Sarah is one of those people. The moment you meet her you know there is something incredible about her. Putting her amazing personality into words is no easy task. She is compassionate, beautiful, smart, sweet, and, most of all, giving. 

 

Sarah is a super-hero by day, protecting the streets and public as a seven year veteran of the Kansas City Police force. By night, she is a beloved wife, stepmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. 

 

The past twelve months she has been having ongoing medical issues. After months of questioning, doctors finally confirmed her diagnosis of ALS (Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) or Lou Gehrig’s disease. 

 

Sarah has a battle ahead of her, but she is ready to face it head on. She won’t let this diagnosis define her. She will fight with grace and with courage. She will fight with an army behind her.

 

Sarah’s family, friends, coworkers and more make up this army of support. We are calling ourselves “Sarah’s Soldiers” and we know our mission. It is to follow Sarah’s orders of helping her smile and laugh everyday. 

 

If you’re lucky enough to have met Sarah, you know she won’t go down without a fight. And you can help her.
