Hello to my friends and family:
2014 marks the beginning of my 4th year racing as one of the few Filipina Americans in the sport. I feel like I've come a long way but with the competitors I'm facing every time, it will always be new.
The greatest event I'll be driving this year is the 2014 Sport Kart Grand Nationals, a 4 day event at the CalSpeed track at Auto Club Speedway playing host to the largest arrive and drive karting series in the US. This field of over 100 is overflowing with amazing talent"”drivers traveling from Australia and Europe, drivers with national wins in multiple series, and sometimes road race champions. What I look forward to is this tremendous opportunity to dance with the best and improve what I do and who I am. (On a lighter note, I also hope to absorb the skill of fellow drivers through osmosis.)
I need your help to make it through this. I originally placed my donation goal at $460 to cover the cost of registration and the fees for using the GoFundMe service but went for $500.
Any of your support would mean a lot to me. Racing has changed my life and given me a focus that I never had before. I went from knowing nothing of cars or what an apex was to now helping other women learn, owning and successfully keeping alive a rotary engine, and even being in a project as test driver for Mazda. I am satisfied every day knowing that I do what I can"”with your help I can do more.
