Sarah goes to London

My name is Sarah Woodham and I am a costume designer. Three years ago my community from Trinidad and Tobago banded together to help me fulfill my dream of attending the School of Drama at Yale University. That outpouring of support got me through to this moment. I have worked long and hard to make them proud and I will be graduating from Yale in May of 2018 and head into the working world.
I have thought long and hard about my next steps. A career in costume design requires me to live where the work is. The industry is centered in New York and London, and these kinds of oportunities are scarce in Trinidad. I know that it means leaving my family and home behind for a time but going home is not an option for me right now. It means I lose the connections I have made here and miss out on any job opportunities I might have had. I have been one of the lucky few to come so far to do this training and it would be a shame to have to give it up altogether.
With the American immigration process being as long and expensive as it is , I plan on moving to London - which is cheaper and easier for me- to gain more knowledge and first hand experience in the Theatre and Film Industry that I love. In order to do that I need your help again. I am going through the process of getting a 5 year Ancestry Visa which costs US $4,108.82. The rest of the moving process includes a plane ticket, which averages $600 and finding a place to stay. It's a lot of money for a Grad student to find on her own before graduation, so I am looking outwards for help. In order to leave for London on the first of June I need to follow this timeline - I have to raise $2123.42 by December to prove that I can support myself, another $600 by feburary for the plane ticket and another $1985.40 by March 1st to pay for the application and Health surcharge fee. Any contribution you make means I'm one step closer to fulfilling my dream, finding a place to rest my head and my eternal gratitude. Please help give me a fighting chance.
