Honduran Orphanage

I have been accepted to work in an orphanage in La Ceiba,Honduras for 4 weeks during the summer of 2014 with Love Volunteers.
The program description is as follows: "Feed the Children sponsors the programs at this orphanage which houses street children and other children at risk. Volunteers are sought who possess certain personal attributes. These essentially comprise an ability and willingness to give affection and show understanding towards abandoned children, as well as the patience and tact necessary for dealing with children who may have experience psychological trauma. Besides assisting with routine daily tasks at the orphanage, volunteers may help organizing games and entertainment for the children."
The day-to-day tasks are quite varied on the 'working with children/orphanage' programs. You can expect to spend time teaching the older children as well as arranging and running fun activities and games. You will also be helping out around the orphanage with things like cooking, cleaning, painting, gardening etc. The daily schedule can vary as well but generally volunteers will work from around 8am - 3 or 5pm. Here's an indication of your activities.
-Teaching, perhaps an area you have a special interest or skill
-Helping children with homework
-Providing basic reading and counting lessons
-Organizing and running educational and recreational activities for the children (games, arts and crafts, music etc.)
-Helping to keep the children's home clean.
-Monitoring the cleanliness of the children and assisting where necessary.
-Helping with the cooking, washing of dishes, laundry, building structures (painting, gardening etc.)
-Helping the children to learn common courtesies, moral education etc.
I am beyond excited for this opportunity to love on children with the pure love of Jesus and experience life and a culture different from my own. I am estimating that I need to raise close to $2000.00 which includes the program fee, travel, my passport, vaccinations, and meals.
