Tim & Sarah Fischer Medical Fund

To say life has been rough to Sarah Fischer lately would be an understatement. In the span of two years, she was diagnosed with both endometriosis and fibromyalgia. On Christmas morning 2016, her back gave out. She spent the following week in the hospital with a herniated disk. She's had six surgeries in two years, and another is on the horizon. Debilitating pain from fibromyalgia and stage 4 endometriosis makes many day-to-day tasks painful and exhausting. 

Endometriosis has been described like a cancer that doesn't kill you but causes excruciating pain. It disrupts every aspect of life from physical, mental, social and emotional health to relationships, career opportunities, and fertility. There is no cure.

Fibromyalgia is like living with the flu every day. You have the aches, pain, fever, and fatigue. It's even painful for clothing or blankets to touch your skin. There is no cure. 

For Sarah, most days consist of waking up, grabbing a heating pad, taking pain pills, and resting. All of this pain is invisible from the outside. Most doctors don't fully understand it; many friends and family members don't either. All the while, medical bills are piling up.

However, while there is no cure, there is hope for relief. The Center for Endometriosis Care in Atlanta, Georgia is a leader in laparoscopic excision, the surgical cornerstone of an effective, multidisciplinary approach to treating the disease. We believe this is the opportunity for Sarah to find some long-term relief from at least one medical issue.

This page has been established by Tim and Sarah's family to raise funds for their current medical debt, which is  approximately $18,000, and to raise the additional $7,000 required as a deposit for the Center for Endometriosis Care. We'd like to get Sarah in for surgery this year.
