Sarah Sprague

Mother, Daughter, Sister, Teacher, Cousin, Friend... these are just a few words that describe who Sarah is to each of us and the list of words that describes how Sarah has added to each of our lives, well, there aren't enough words in this world to even start to describe that.

On October 4th, Sarah suffered a stroke caused by vertebral artery dissection. She spent the next 5 days at Dell Seton Medical Center where doctors ran multiple tests and eventually confirmed that the right side of her brain was getting little to no blood. On Tuesday, the doctors performed an angiogram and were pleased to see that the smaller blood vessels were increasing in size and routing more blood to her brain. Sarah was able to head home later that afternoon knowing that the next 2 weeks were critical to her recovery. 

Thursday, after talking with the nurse, Sarah return to the emergency room as her pain continued to worsen and she remained dizzy and nauseous.  After a CT scan, the doctors informed Sarah and family that she had suffered an additional stroke. Friday morning, however, it was confirmed that it was actually the initial stroke that was still "blooming like a flower" causing additional injury to her brain.  The doctors were confident however that the stoke had completely "blossomed" and Sarah was able to return home Friday. The next few weeks will remain critical but we are all confident Sarah will make a full recovery. She will continue to need lots of rest as she recovers.
