Sarah Shaffer Recovery

On October 2nd we had the most terrifying call you can ever receive.. Sarah has been in a horrible car accident and is being life- flighted from Cedartown to Grady Hospital because it was known for its Trauma Center. Tohe helicopters were rated 1-5, 1 being the worst .  The nurse prepared us as Sarah had been assigned a 2 and she hadn’t even landed at the Hospital yet.. She works for the Dept of Family and Children Services and loves her job.. there were many other higher paying jobs as she pursued her degree but caring about people is were her heart is.. which makes all this so sad as we do not know if she is going to be able to return to the job that she has poured herself into the past few years.  Dr.’s have told us there is brain damage and at this time there is no timestamp to say what improvements she may reach.  Returning home she will need 24/7 care, and out patient therapy 3 times a week down in Decatur,  while her husband Chuck continues to work, there will be days he will have to take off when the Dr.’s and case managers need to meet with him discussing Sarah’s medical needs and possible changes to her care as they are needed .. As most of us would experience if both worked..  Lost wages from Sarah’s job as well as Chuck’s have placed them in a position to ask for help.. with Chuck and Sarah’s permission I have set up this Go Fund Me account.. As prayers are being requested for healing of her body and mind, and for myself for grace, and strength to stay strong, giving her encouragement  and believing the promises of God that all things will work to the good to those that Love the Lord.... we also believe it is in the will of God to ASK - so that it may be given..if you are able and the Lord puts it on your heart  - please  donate ... in either  we are very grateful and thank you for loving us...
