Sarah J. Thompson Scholarship

As a memorial to our mother, Sarah Jane Thompson, Matt and I have set up a scholarship fund in her name. Many years ago, Mom talked about wanting to establish a college or technical school scholarship for a C average high school senior student. In her many years as an educator, she encountered many C students who wanted to go to college and who could benefit from an academic scholarship.

Education was very important to our Mother. As a school Librarian, she enjoyed reading and cared deeply for the students she helped during her career. She wanted both Matt and me to go to college and find a career we liked (or maybe even loved), which we both did.

Her death was all too sudden for us, the people she loved, and the people who loved her. This is our way of keeping her memory and her love of education alive. We look forward to using this memorial fund to help a student achieve his/her goals.
