Sarah Hegedus' rainy day fund
It is with great sadness that we share the tragic loss of our wonderful friend Marguerite Cargill, who passed away unexpectedly Saturday, July 10, 2021. Marguerite leaves behind her husband and best friend Alex Hegedus and their 13-year-old neurodiverse daughter Sarah.
Marguerite was an amazing mentor, an incredible VFX artist, a loving wife to Alex, and a wonderful and devoted mother to Sarah. She was in high demand on the VFX front, as she was well-known for her ability to keep things light when things got dark. She was known for doing things the RIGHT way and had a reputation for stellar problem-solving capabilities under tight deadlines with high-profile clients. She was the consummate team leader blessed with a quick wit and commanded the gift of being able to turn a tense situation into a room full of laughter at the drop of a hat.
On the mom front, Marguerite was a force of nature, ensuring the very best care and lots of healthy stimulation for her beautiful child. Sarah is a wheelchair user, is nonverbal, and has a smile that will light up a room.
If you knew Marguerite, you know she was a ferociously independent person who would never ask for charity. We want to establish a "rainy day" fund for Sarah, who has many medical, emotional, and social needs and will feel the loss of her mother very keenly.
Please consider a contribution. All funds go to Alex for Sarah's use. These funds will not bring Marguerite back but hopefully, they will help Alex and Sarah through this painful transition.
