I would like to ask you to partner with me in an incredible new adventure that God has prepared for me. This summer I have the opportunity of going to a 3-month missions training school in Pemba, Mozambique, on the southeast coast of Africa. It is called the Harvest School of Missions, run by Rolland and Heidi Baker of Iris Ministries.
In 2008, God awoke my heart to missions when I went on a mission trip to Guatemala. Ever since then, I have felt called to missions. Because of that, I chose to attend John Brown University and major in Intercultural Studies. During college, I learned how God's heart burns for all the people of the world to know, love, and worship Him. The Holy Spirit planted a desire in me to go to the nations and bring the love of the Father and the good news of His Kingdom. Last spring, I was able to study abroad in Ecuador, where God gave me the opportunity to teach English to school children and work with kids in the jungle.
Now that I've graduated from JBU, God has led me to the next step. At the Harvest School in Mozambique, I'll be able to put what I learned in college into practice. The Harvest School primarily emphasizes love for God, and how lasting ministry to people in need flows out of intimacy with God. So during this school, worship and prayer will be part of every day's schedule. Classes are every weekday morning, and afternoons and evenings are set aside for ministry to the local people. There will be weekend outreaches to villages in the Mozambican bush. It will be a time when I can pray and worship God, learn about missions principles, and reach out to orphans and widows and the poor all in the same day.
The training part of the school runs from June 1 to August 6. Then, for 16 days in August, I will have the opportunity to go on an international outreach with a small group of students, where we will apply everything we have just learned. I am officially part of the team going to Nepal. We will be working with existing ministries to bring the love of Christ to the streets of Kathmandu, to orphans and the poor, and to remote villages.
I would like to ask you to partner with me in this adventure! I believe that not only will God use me to show His love to people in need, but He will also give me direction in what He wants me to do long-term. Would you consider making an investment in His Kingdom? Your support will make an eternal impact on the people I minister to this summer, as well as on my future ministry.
I am currently working nearly full-time as a substitute teacher. I'm saving up for the Harvest School, but what I can earn will not be enough to cover all the costs of tuition ($2800), the extended outreach ($800), airfare ($3800), and living expenses (estimated at $500 or more). The total costs of tuition and outreach are due on April 25, 2013. Any and all donations, small or large, are immensely appreciated, and I thank you in advance!
Blessings on you! During the school, I will be keeping a blog at http://www.sagraco.com, and I will be sending an email newsletter every two weeks, if possible. I want to keep those who have supported me updated on how everything goes! Your prayers are appreciated more than anything. Please pray for God to teach me and work through me at this school. Thank you for joining with me and with God's purposes!

Some Scriptures to Ponder...
Thank you for praying for me! Here are some verses that have had an impact on me in regards to missions. I hope that in meditating on them you also will be moved by God's burning heart for all the people groups of the earth.
A Prayer for Deeper Knowledge of God and of His Calling, Inheritance, and Power:
"I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and his incomparably great power for us who believe." Ephesians 1:17-19
Ask the Lord of the Harvest to Send Forth Laborers:
"Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease and sickness. When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, 'The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.' " Matthew 9:35-38
Jesus' calling of Paul as a missionary to the Gentiles:
"I am sending you to them to open their eyes and turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God, so that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a place among those who are sanctified by faith in me." Acts 26:17-18
JESUS IS WORTHY!
"You are worthy... because you were slain, and with your blood you purchased for God persons from every tribe and language and people and nation. You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to serve our God, and they will reign on the earth." Revelation 5:9-10
