Sarah Fisher's Custody Battle

As most of you know Dru came into Sarah's life about 4 1/2 yrs ago when she was dating his father.  Sarah became the stable family in Dru's life.  Enrolling him in preschool, scheduling play dates, teaching him to read and bringing normalcy into his life.  She values the importance of family and always encourages Dru to remember who his family is to the point of finding and arranging visits with his maternal grandparents.  After his father came on hard times, Sarah and he split up and Dru was left in her care.   A year ago, Sarah wished to make her family complete as she is the mother of Dru's biological brother Ronin and wanted to secure a place for Dru in her family.  On her own she filed for custody.  Sarah spent numerous hours filing paperwork, studying the law and meeting with various lawyers and being told she would never be granted custody because she is not blood related.  As a single mom and carrying a full time job, and never asking for financial assistance, she could not afford the high cost of lawyers and did not qualify for free legal aide, she kept at it and never gave up.  She tried working with his father and maternal grandparents and there was no response. She was given Emergency custody as his primary caregiver 
Dru never skipped a beat and is thriving in first grade.  He is in a stable home with family, he has great friendships and his best friend and brother Ronin are tearing up the lake.  :)
Now a year later, his maternal grandparents have decided Dru would be better in their care.  They have hired a lawyer to fight their battle and Sarah's knowledge is in being a loving and nurturing mother and not in family law.  The cost to fight this would be up to $20,000.  To think we need to put a price on a child is ludicrous, but this is where we are asking for help.  Sarah fears that her efforts are lost due to the fact she cannot afford a lawyer.  She fears, she may lose her oldest son.  Yes, he calls her  "Mom".  He writes stories about his family, Sarah, Ronin and Dru.
If you know Sarah and the whole story , you will know her strength, her tears and her love for her two sons.  She would fight to the end to keep them together.
I humbly ask for you, our friends and family to help keep this beautiful, vivacious family together.  We would be grateful and blessed.  The Fisher Family would not be complete without Dru in it.
