Sarah Blomquist Recovery Fund

Donation protected

On Tuesday June 30th, Sarah Blomquist was returning to work after going home for lunch. A short distance from home, she was stopped at a light, waiting to turn left onto Highway 9 in Marysville when she was rear-ended at a high rate of speed by a driver under the influence of drugs. The impact left her in critical condition; unconscious and severely injured with a broken neck and other severe head injuries.

Her family was only made aware of the situation when her co-workers reached out because she had not returned from her lunchbreak. Her mother was able to see her (unconscious) at the hospital for a brief moment before she was taken to have her beautiful long blonde hair shaved for emergency surgery to reduce the swelling in her brain.
Sarah made it through three major surgeries in twenty-eight hours: the first, to remove part of her skull and the next two, to fuse multiple vertebrae in her neck and back to protect her spinal cord. Due to the nature of her injuries, Sarah is stabilized in a medically induced coma for the next few days to allow her body to begin to heal.

Before this tragic accident, Sarah had been preparing for her wedding only three weeks away on July 25th. What should be a time of looking forward to her bright future has now become the time to fight for her life.

Due to Sarah’s unconscious state, we do not yet know the full extent of her injuries or whether she will regain mobility and full mental capacity. No matter the outcome, Sarah has a long road to recovery ahead of her. As such, the family is accepting donations for her medical bills and post-hospital care.

Thank you for your concern, love and support during this time of tragedy.
